RAPID TEST FOR CHLAMYDIA
The Veneris test offers rapid diagnosis for Chlamydia, a STD caused by the Chlamydia Trachomatis bacteria, by using a sample of vaginal secretion taken as close as possible to the cervix.
This test is for female use only, but in case of a positive result, the treatment should be administered to both of the sexual partners.
Chlamydia infection is the most frequently occurring sexually-transmitted disease. You can get
chlamydia by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex as well as newborn babies of infected mothers
are the most frequently affected.
Infections without sexual contact (e.g. from swimming pools) are rare, but not impossible. Younger adults (between age 16 and 25), those who frequently change sexual partners. Chlamydia trachomatis infections frequently have no symptoms. However, they may lead to complaints such as eye infections, arthritis, and urinary-tract infections. In addition, untreated infection frequently leads to infertility and increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy and preterm births. In developing countries, Chlamydia trachomatis infection is the most common cause of blindness among newborns.
It is particularly important to treat Chlamydia infections in pregnancy. Around 50 % of infected mothers pass the infection on to their newborns. Common complications among newborns include conjunctivitis and pneumonia.
How to use
Collect the sample from inside of the vagina
Open the red lid of the tube
Insert the cotton tip in the solution inside the tube
Wait exactly 5 minutes
Close the red lid of the tube and shake gently
Take out the testing cassette from the foil
Apply 2 drops in the S field of the test
Wait 15 minutes for the result
